🇧🇷 Fuerza Aérea (Operação Prato)
A pilot from the airline TAM reported a sighting of a luminous object during an international flight over northeastern Brazil. The incident occurred on October 1, 2007, at 06:43 UTC, while the TAM8077 flight was flying at 39,000 feet between the STM VOR and the AMVER position. The pilot described an object in the 12 o'clock position (directly in front of the aircraft) emitting a strong light and triggering the TCAS system, used to avoid collisions. The pilot performed an evasive maneuver to the right to avoid traffic, although no other objects or physical evidence were recorded. The report notes that the object remained visible during the flight toward Belém Airport, and the pilot identified it as possibly a space station.
The Brazilian Air Force logged the sighting as a hotel traffic occurrence (HT), a category that includes unidentified objects. Another pilot, from flight VLO 7421, also reported a light in the 9 o'clock position at 07:12 UTC, although there was no traffic in that area at the time. Despite both pilots' reports, no images, videos, or other physical records were found to support the sighting. The document was classified as confidential and archived without a clear resolution, making it another case in the long history of unexplained UFO reports.
