🇦🇷 Fuerza Aérea — CIAE
In 2016, the Commission for the Study of Aerospace Phenomena (CEFAE) analyzed 40 UFO sightings. All cases were resolved through technical and scientific investigations, concluding that there was no evidence of unexplained phenomena. The observed objects were found to be consistent with natural, optical, photographic, or perceptual errors. CEFAE used tools such as astronomical tracking software and image analysis to rule out unconventional hypotheses. In several cases, external collaborators contributed innovative methods, such as the use of the IPACO program to analyze photos and videos. Despite all cases having known causes, their study improved research methods and reinforced the importance of rigorous methodology.
The testimonies presented include sightings of birds, insects, lens reflections, and dust particles. In some cases, witnesses were unaware of what they were actually observing, such as when a lunar eclipse generated optical reflections or when the use of camera flashes revealed dust motes. CEFAE also emphasized transparency and invited questioning of their conclusions with solid evidence. The report reflects the institution's commitment to science and objective dissemination, showing how what seems extraordinary can have simple explanations.
