Summary

In September 1954, three children aged between 5 and 10 years witnessed a strange event while walking to school near Figeac in the Lot department. While traveling along National Road 13, they encountered a short figure who fired a shot, which frightened the children. Before this, the older two had seen a kind of box in a nearby field. According to their accounts, the box flew away at two different times, causing confusion. The gendarmerie was informed by the teacher and interviewed the children the next day, but found no physical traces or additional testimonies. Due to the lack of consistent information and corroboration, the case was classified as "C" by the GEIPAN.

The nature of the object and the figure who fired the shot remain unresolved. Although the children agreed that the box flew away, there was no way to verify this or obtain more details. The absence of physical evidence and the inability to confirm the testimonies led investigators to dismiss the case. However, the description of an object that suddenly takes flight and an unknown figure raise questions without clear answers. This case, though inconclusive, adds another chapter to the history of unexplained phenomena in the French region.
