UFO in cigar shape in France

Summary

On October 27, 1954, around 11:15 PM, a witness walking along the National Road 40 in Oye-Plage, France, noticed an opalescent light just a few meters ahead. The object was described as a cigar-shaped craft, 8 meters long and between 80 and 100 centimeters in diameter, moving silently at about 30 km/h at a height of 20 meters above the road. It emitted a whitish glow that did not illuminate the rooftops it flew over. The object disappeared around a curve, reappeared further ahead, and then suddenly turned west-southwest. At that point, it transformed into a bright yellowish sphere. The witness tried to get others to observe it, but he remained the sole witness. Although the account seems sincere, the description is not particularly unusual, as it could be a distant light or a conventional flying object. The GEIPAN classified this case as C due to the lack of additional evidence.
