In October 1954, a farmer and his employee observed a luminous phenomenon near a path in the Somme region of France. The object, described as a fireball spinning just a few meters above the ground, emitted bright rays of various colors that caught the attention of the witnesses. After turning off the tractor's lights, they saw the object slowly rise toward the south, crossing the valley of the Somme River. When they turned the lights back on, the object reappeared, spun again, and then moved toward the southwest. The witnesses found no trace on the ground, deepening their bewilderment.
The next day, the farmer described the object as a circular shape the size of a round table and mentioned a sound similar to a swarm of bees. The local police, informed by the press, investigated the case and found two additional witnesses who confirmed seeing a luminous orange ball and elongated shapes. Although some details of the phenomenon suggest a ball lightning, the lack of meteorological data prevents confirmation of this hypothesis. The GEIPAN classified the case as "C" due to insufficient evidence.
