🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On May 20, 1955, at 2:30 am, two gendarmes in Givet, Ardennes, observed a luminous phenomenon that caught their attention. The object was shell-shaped and moved in a southeast to northeast direction, disappearing within seconds. It left behind a luminous and multicolored trail. Although initially intriguing, the GEIPAN classified this case as B, attributing it to the atmospheric entry of a meteoroid, that is, a bolide. This type of phenomenon, while striking, is explainable by current science and is not considered unexplained.
