Summary

In June 1955, three witnesses in Cavaillon observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky. At 20:55, they saw a red rectangle that initially remained stationary. Then, the object changed shape, going from a half-moon to a ball, and moved rapidly toward the east. The object narrowed and disappeared. Investigators ruled out the Moon or an airplane. However, due to lack of additional information, the case was classified as C by the GEIPAN.

The phenomenon lasted only 20 seconds, but it was enough to leave an impression on the witnesses. The description of the object and its behavior did not fit conventional explanations. Despite the brief sighting, the testimony was consistent and detailed. The GEIPAN, although not considering it unexplained, acknowledged there was no clear explanation. This case is an example of how aerial sightings can be difficult to classify without further evidence.
