Summary

In November 1963, a father and his two sons were walking along a rural path when they observed an orange glowing ball. The phenomenon remained stationary under dark clouds for more than a minute. Then, it began to spin and oscillate from side to side before disappearing quickly into the clouds along a straight and curved upward trajectory. No noise or trail was heard or seen. The testimony reached the GEIPAN in 2008, many years later, when one of the witnesses, an 18-year-old student, recalled the details between 2003 and 2007. Although the possibility of it being a plasma ball was considered, it was ruled out because there was no storm and the characteristics did not match those known of ball lightning. The GEIPAN classified it as an unexplained phenomenon with a marked sense of strangeness.
