A witness reported in 2008 an observation that took place between 1973 and 1976, without specifying the exact month or day. At that time, he was walking alone near a rural road when he saw a stationary white object a few meters above the ground. No engine noise was heard. As he approached, he saw flashes and intense light surrounding the object, which then took off with noise and quickly gained altitude. The location where the object was parked was black, but showed no signs of fire. Although the case was submitted to the GEIPAN in 2008 following a TV broadcast, the lack of precise details and the witness's refusal to share information about people who were aware of the event at the time made a serious investigation impossible. Additionally, with more than 35 years having passed, the accuracy of his memory is questionable. Due to these uncertainties, the GEIPAN classified the case as "C", meaning it could not be investigated. The GEIPAN also noted that the observation site was only 10 km from the Canjuers military base, one of the largest firing ranges in Western Europe, which already housed many types of military vehicles at that time.
