Summary

In September 1976, a family in Saint-Verand observed a luminous phenomenon near their home. A witness felt intense heat and saw an elliptical bright object with a halo. The object lasted about two minutes, descended, and then disappeared suddenly. Earlier, the TV had interference and an animal was frightened. The next day, the gendarmerie found no traces. A neighbor heard a thunder-like noise and had a brief power outage but didn't see the phenomenon. Initially classified as case C due to lack of information, it was later considered as a possible atmospheric electrical phenomenon, such as a fireball. It was finally classified as case B, a probable observation of a fireball.
