In November 1976, a hunter in Saint-Geoirs (France) observed a strange phenomenon at dawn. Initially mistaking a red glow for a chimney, he soon noticed a flickering light moving from east to west. As it approached, the object changed direction and hovered about 10 meters above the ground. The witness described a cylindrical object around two meters long with an intermittent red glow. The object moved silently southward, paused, and then disappeared. The gendarmerie found no other witnesses or traces of the event. Though unexplained, the case is considered weak due to a single witness. However, its proximity and brief duration (8–10 seconds) give it a strong sense of strangeness.
