On January 24, 1977, three people in Saint-Benoît, on the island of La Réunion, observed a column of steam or smoke coming from the sky. According to their testimony, a patch of foam appeared on the ocean's surface, suggesting that an object had fallen into the water. They estimated the impact point to be about 4 kilometers from the shore and between 8 and 10 kilometers from the observation location. No other testimonies or confirmations were collected, and due to the difficulty in precisely determining the impact location, no further searches were conducted. Classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, this case remains unresolved, adding a touch of mystery to this unusual aerial phenomenon.
