Summary

On May 11, 1977, several witnesses in Barcelonnette observed two silent flying objects emitting intermittent red light. The objects also cast a white light toward the ground, drawing attention. The gendarmerie investigation concluded that two PUMA-SA/330 helicopters from the Cannet-des-Maures base were conducting night exercises, including ground illumination, in the area.
