Red-orange light ball in Montmorillon

Summary

On November 19, 1977, a driver and his passenger spotted a red-orange glowing sphere moving near them. The driver stopped and watched as the object hovered silently about 1.5 meters above the ground and 30 meters from his car. Alarmed, the driver changed his route, but the object followed him for nine kilometers over a quarter of an hour. No physical traces or conventional explanations were found. Neither observatories nor military operations reported anything unusual that night. Despite this, investigators suggested the phenomenon might be electrical, as it always appeared near electrical infrastructure.
