In January 1978, nine children in Nouzonville (Ardennes, France) observed an orange-colored ovoid object. The craft, coming from the south, made a curve to head westward, maintaining an altitude similar to that of small aircraft. At the base of the object, alternating red and white lights blinked rhythmically. While the children agreed on the visual description, their accounts of the sound it produced varied. No other witnesses or additional records of this possible craft were reported, adding an air of mystery to this nighttime observation.
The case was classified by the GEIPAN as category B, indicating a notable observation but without conclusive evidence. Despite the lack of secondary testimonies, the consistency in the object's description and its aerial behavior caught the attention of researchers. This incident, though brief and unconfirmed, adds to the long list of UFO sightings that keep the curiosity about the unknown alive.
