On January 19, 1979, two motorists in Beauvaisis (Oise) observed two bright white lights and an orange-red glow coming from an unidentified object. The phenomenon moved southeast without making any noise. Despite the unusual nature of the event, no other witnesses were found. During the investigation, it was discovered that the same day between 5:30 and 7:00 PM, a twin-engine aircraft had performed training maneuvers. This type of aircraft is equipped with two powerful front spotlights, and turns were made over the area in question. Although a conventional explanation cannot be ruled out, the witnesses' description did not fully match what would be expected from a normal aircraft.
