In December 1978 and February 1979, in the Ain region (France), several witnesses reported the presence of unidentified flying objects. A notable case occurred on February 13, 1979, when a person observed a large white ball with multiple interior lights moving at low altitude. Despite a two to three-minute observation, the object could not be identified. During the investigation, other similar testimonies were collected, including a sighting on December 4, 1978, of a trapezoidal-shaped craft with red lights emitting a sound similar to a helicopter. Although the possibility of tourist aircraft was considered, air traffic control did not register any activity during the indicated dates and times. The repetition of sightings and the presence of airfields in the area suggest that some cases could be related to conventional aircraft, but this hypothesis could not be confirmed.
