In May 1979, two people in Marne observed an unusual aerial phenomenon for 20 minutes. The object, described as a flattened rugby ball, crossed the sky from southeast to northwest at about 500 meters altitude. It left a bright orange trail that varied in length. One of the witnesses, a future pilot, did not recognize it as a conventional aircraft. Despite the detailed description, no further testimonies or data such as the exact time of observation were collected, limiting the investigation.
The case was classified as "C," indicating no clear explanation was found. The object did not show characteristics of planes or balloons, and its unusual behavior drew attention. However, the lack of additional information and other witnesses made analysis difficult. This case, though brief, adds another mystery to the history of sightings in the French region.
