Low-altitude orange sphere at Raon-aux-Bois in 1980

Summary

On January 28, 1980, at 4:15 AM, a witness driving near Raon-aux-Bois spotted an orange spherical object about forty meters above the ground and one hundred fifty meters away. It emitted an intense beam of light directed upward and was surrounded by a brighter ring. As the witness continued driving, the object seemed to follow, causing fear. No sound or smell was detected. The object disappeared shortly after. There are no other witnesses or additional information about the phenomenon.
