In 1952, Ralph L. Hayer captured images of an unidentified flying object shaped like a saucer. The photos, taken with a 16 mm camera, were enlarged multiple times for analysis. The CIA received the images and kept them available for 30 days. The object appeared bright orange and was observed at an altitude of about 2000 feet.
According to the report, the UFO had the shape of an oblate spheroid that flattened further as its speed increased. The footage lasted around three minutes, and approximately 25 seconds passed between the first and sixth image. Hayer was willing to loan the negatives if they served a useful purpose. The film perforations helped estimate the object's size, adding credibility to the photographs.
