In March 1980, three witnesses in Charente-Maritime watched a yellow light below the cloud layer for nearly half an hour. The phenomenon's complete silence struck them as puzzling. They tried to alert authorities, but no further testimonies emerged. Hypotheses such as a poachers' spotlight or a discotheque beam were considered, yet neither fully fit: the light was too bright and of an unusual colour for those sources. Although the report was detailed, it lacked precise angular and directional data. The case was classified as unexplained with reservations, and a new field investigation is no longer feasible.
