In March 1980, a motorist and a passenger spotted a dark triangular object over the Loiret département. Red and white lights flashed at its extremities, and the witnesses estimated a wingspan of about 50 metres. Initially stationary, the object slowly tilted, held a constant distance of 50 metres from both the ground and the car, then climbed, turned right, and disappeared at high speed. The sighting lasted four to five minutes; with the car windows closed, no sound was heard.
GEIPAN classified the case as unexplainable. No additional testimonies were collected, and no conventional explanation was found for an object of that size and behaviour.
