After finishing their shift on 10 March 1980, officers received a call about a strange light on the road to Authon. They found nothing on site, but one of them and his wife continued watching the sky from home. At 22:15 they spotted a light larger than a star moving erratically. Joined by colleagues, they drove out to investigate. After losing sight of the object several times, they reached a crossroads where they observed a rectangular shape with rounded edges emitting white light that illuminated the surroundings. One officer felt heat and intense fear that kept him from sleeping.
GEIPAN classified the case as D. The rapid, erratic movements described are common in such testimonies. No conventional explanation was found, and the collective nature of the sighting by trained professionals lends weight to the account.
