Summary

At 4:45 a.m. on May 13, 1980, a man walking to work in Vincennes spotted a very bright green ball streaking across the sky from south to north at low altitude, trailing yellow sparks. The sighting lasted under five seconds with no accompanying sound. There were no other witnesses. Investigators considered the most likely explanation to be a natural phenomenon such as a meteorite entering the atmosphere.
