🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In the early hours of June 6, 1980, three officials on night patrol in Versailles watched an object cross the sky from west to east in just four seconds. Rounded at the front and pointed at the rear, it glowed like a neon tube and traveled in a straight line at high speed. No sound was heard — neither from movement nor impact.
GEIPAN classified the case as C, finding no satisfactory explanation. Despite a clear, consistent description from all three witnesses, no further data was obtained. Such brief, silent sightings are particularly difficult to verify.
