In August 1980, several witnesses in Bagnères-de-Bigorre observed a circular shape moving silently across the sky, emitting visible radiation. The sighting was brief, and some lost sight of the phenomenon when buildings blocked their view. The Pic du Midi observatory, contacted after the incident, recorded nothing unusual. A natural atmospheric entry was suggested as a possible explanation, though an unexplained phenomenon could not be ruled out.
