Oval object with flashing lights in Petit-Landau, 1980

Summary

In the early hours of 12 December 1980, a driver in Alsace noticed an orange light in her rear-view mirror. She continued driving and spotted an oval object in the forest, roughly 300 metres away, emitting intermittent green, red and blue lights. When she stopped, she estimated it was about five metres wide and two metres tall. Shaken, she drove away and watched the object disappear at an intersection. There were no other witnesses or supporting information. The case remains unexplained.
