Around 11:45 PM on July 16, 1981, several people on a boat spotted an object above Port-Cros island. They described it as larger than a star, torch-shaped, and white-green, moving slowly along a horizontal trajectory for several seconds. No further data were obtained. GEIPAN classified the case as C, with no explanation identified.
