In April 1982 a witness in Saint-Alexandre saw a flash that lit up the valley, followed by a round, silent object glowing green on the outside and white at the centre, moving swiftly at low altitude toward the west. It did not change shape or colour. With no other witnesses or explanations at the time, the case was classified as unidentified.
Thirty-five years later GEIPAN re-examined it and concluded it was most likely an atmospheric entry of a meteorite or space debris. The described characteristics — an intense flash, green envelope with a white core — match those of objects entering the atmosphere. The meteorite hypothesis is considered more probable given its higher frequency compared to space debris. The case was reclassified as B.
