🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
One night in May 1982, a driver and her passenger spotted an orange, crescent-shaped luminous form hovering over Suippes. It then appeared to follow their car in horizontal jumps until they lost sight of it behind buildings in Somme-Suippes. No sound was heard. GEIPAN's analysis concluded the witnesses had been looking at the Moon near sunrise. Fatigue and the motion of their own vehicle created the illusion of an object tracking them.
