🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In September 1982, a couple on their balcony in Villebon-sur-Yvette watched an orange luminous object resembling an airship for about two minutes before it gradually faded. Originally classified D by GEIPAN, the case was later re-examined with modern tools. Weather data and the Moon's position that night matched the object's location. Clouds on the horizon, unmentioned by the witnesses, accounted for the gradual disappearance. With only two observers and no photographs, the case was reclassified as a Moon observation.
