Spinning-top-shaped object with zigzag movements in Calvados, 1983

Summary

On the night of 28 January 1983, a driver in Calvados spotted a spinning-top-shaped object just metres above the ground, emitting dim red and green lights. It zigzagged before spiralling upward and disappearing. There were no other witnesses or physical evidence. GEIPAN recorded the testimony and classified the case as C. The object's erratic behaviour—abrupt direction changes and a spiralling ascent—remains unexplained.
