In September 1983, four witnesses in Beauvezer observed intermittent white and red lights above the mountain known as "La Femme Couchée." The object moved in zigzag patterns, quickly crossed an enclosed valley, and vanished toward Chalufy hill. The brevity of the sighting prevented a precise description of its shape.
GEIPAN reclassified the case from D to B after a later review. The flashing lights and associated noise suggested a civilian or military aircraft, though perceived speed and altitude caused confusion. Air traffic data from 1983 could not be confirmed, but current flight routes make an aircraft in the area plausible. The investigation could not determine the aircraft type with certainty.
