On the night of 2 March 1985 a witness and his family watched a fire-coloured ball roughly one metre in diameter over Saint-Seine-l'Abbaye for fifteen minutes. The object left same-coloured trails, moved slowly at about 800 metres altitude following the terrain, and produced no sound. Classified C by GEIPAN, the case remains unsolved — the object was never identified and no conventional explanation was found, while the lack of additional data prevented further investigation.
