On the night of 20 July 1985 a group in Saint-Germain, Aube, claimed to have seen an inverted-cup-shaped object topped by a dome emitting white and yellow light. The main witness, a teenager, said the object hovered silently for forty minutes, appearing and disappearing. She contacted a radio station, but military investigators could not corroborate her account. Two alleged witnesses neither confirmed their presence nor the sighting, and actual weather conditions did not match the description. GEIPAN classified the case as B, deeming the testimony unreliable and likely fabricated. The case illustrates the difficulty of verifying UFO reports lacking physical evidence and coherent testimonies.
