Triangular lights over Cahors likely a Cessna

Summary

On 5 October 1985, around 19:20, a driver and passengers in Cahors observed a large, silent, triangular luminous object with flashing red and green lights moving at an estimated 80–100 km/h. The investigation found that a flight instructor was flying a Cessna 150 in the same area and timeframe for about 25 minutes, using cabin lights and landing headlights for his students. The pilot reported nothing unusual. It is likely that the witnesses mistook the aircraft for an unidentified object, and GEIPAN considered the case resolved.
