🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On 16 November 1985, a resident of Fresnes watched from his apartment as five white discs performed coordinated circular movements about two kilometres away across a 500-metre perimeter. They arranged themselves in a square around a central disc, which grew larger and shone brightly before the entire group vanished silently. Police did not investigate further, but the description points to a possible optical phenomenon such as a sky rose—a laser pattern projected onto the sky.
Classified as B by GEIPAN, the case stands out for the coherence and precision of the account. While other hypotheses are not ruled out, the behaviour of the group—geometric formation, increasing brightness, and sudden disappearance—suggests an artificial origin, possibly experimental or entertainment-related.
