Summary

On the night of 8 March 1987, at 20:40, several witnesses in the Corse-du-Sud department heard a loud explosion. One reported seeing, just before the blast, a red object resembling a shooting star moving at high speed. The characteristics—a luminous flash followed by a detonation—are consistent with a meteorite fall, although no fragments were recovered. GEIPAN classified the case as A—fully identified.
