Summary

On the morning of 29 July 1987, at 6:45 a.m., two people driving near Toulon-sur-Arroux, Saône-et-Loire, spotted a bright, white, metallic-looking mass hovering above a forest. They estimated it at roughly twenty metres across. The object moved swiftly without producing any sound or smell and disappeared beyond the horizon. Both witnesses agreed on every detail—polished surface, unnatural shape, considerable speed—lending coherence to the report. No conventional explanation was found, and GEIPAN classified the case as D.
