On 12 March 1988, a witness driving through Valensole, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, observed two large pink luminous balls with a fluorescent glow hovering above a radio transmitter. The phenomenon lasted five to eight minutes—long enough to note details. The investigation failed to gather additional information or determine the nature of the event. GEIPAN classified the case as C—no conventional explanation found.
