In the early hours of 6–7 August 1988, a vacationing family in Sainte-Maxime, Var, watched from their villa terrace an elongated object moving at great speed without making any sound. The phenomenon left no trace. Several family members agreed on the description. GEIPAN classified the case as C—no conventional explanation identified.
