🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On September 7, 1988, around 11 PM, a witness in Seloncourt (Doubs) saw a bright ball followed by a flickering white trail that crossed the sky in a split second. No sounds or impacts were reported. The speed and appearance of the phenomenon suggest a possible atmospheric entry of a natural body. GEIPAN classified the case as B — a conventional explanation was not ruled out, but there was insufficient data to definitively close the file.
