Summary

In late January 1989, the Guéret gendarmerie asked all its brigades to observe the sky to the east. Very bright points with changing colors had been reported over several consecutive nights. The phenomenon initially sparked curiosity, but it was determined that exceptionally favorable weather conditions were causing stars to shine unusually brightly, producing scintillation and color variations. GEIPAN classified the case as A, ruling out any anomaly.
