🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A very short sighting. On 26 October 1989, a witness saw a fireball cross the sky over Benagues, Ariège, lasting only 3 to 4 seconds. Investigators concluded it was most likely a celestial body entering Earth's atmosphere—a striking but common event. GEIPAN classified the case as B: no anomalous elements suggesting an unexplainable nature.
