Moon-sized red light over Montmarault

Summary

On 30 April 1990, three independent witnesses in the Allier region observed a red light the apparent size of the moon, moving diagonally towards the ground without any sound. One noted that his dogs reacted with visible alarm. Although the description is reminiscent of an atmospheric entry, the cause could not be identified with certainty. GEIPAN classified the case as D: no conventional explanation.
