Summary

In May 1990, three witnesses in the Loiret department saw an oval or semi-spherical grey-silver object with appendages drifting silently with the wind and reflecting sunlight. Duration estimates ranged from one to five minutes. Originally classified D, GEIPAN later re-examined the case and downgraded it to B: the shape, motion, reflections and appendages — likely strings — are consistent with a Mylar balloon, which already existed in 1990. No physical evidence was recovered, but the witnesses' sketches support the hypothesis.
