On the evening of 8 September 1990 several witnesses and a police patrol in Longuenesse observed ovoid shapes with red and green lights for hours. The forms appeared from 9.30 p.m., moving slowly or hovering. Laser lights from a Lille nightclub were considered but never confirmed. GEIPAN classified the case as D.
