On April 19, 1991, three witnesses in New Caledonia saw two luminous objects cross the sky from east to west. Their descriptions agreed on circular shapes with silver, fluorescent green, and blue-pink-green tones, as well as a straight trajectory and silent movement. The event lasted between 2 and 10 seconds depending on the observer. A satellite breakup was initially considered, but a later investigation concluded it was probably a meteorite entering the atmosphere, consistent with the reported characteristics.
