Close encounter with a lenticular object in Argentan

Summary

At midnight on 3 August 1992, a motorist driving through Argentan (Orne) noticed a white, lens-shaped halo above an embankment next to a field. As the mist cleared, the halo revealed an oval, dark-grey object with a transparent upper section. Inside, a human-like figure could be made out in a pilot's posture, wearing a silver suit and helmet. The object was completely silent.

The driver woke his wife, asleep on the back seat, and both confirmed the object's presence. Suddenly, violet flashes appeared in front of the vehicle, startling them. The driver accelerated; his wife was the last to see a cylindrical shape vanish at high speed. No further data were collected and the case remains unexplained.
