🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In January 1993, several witnesses near Corcieux (Vosges) reported a very bright luminous object moving slowly in a straight line. The sighting caused some alarm, as it did not seem to match any conventional source. However, GEIPAN's analysis—cross-referencing location, time and atmospheric conditions—determined that the object was the planet Venus, exceptionally visible under those particular conditions. Classified A.
